Elliot Marshall Wash is a 60-year-old man who happens to be very comfortable in his age. That’s right- he enjoys activities like wearing baseball caps, fishing, sitting on park benches and flaunting his senior discounts wherever possible. Generally he is a down-to-earth kind of guy who has been humbled by age and travels around in his truck and camper. One would never expect such an even-tempered senior to struggle with lycanthropy. He has settled in an RV park in Arizona, but due to recent issues containing himself in his wolf-form at night he has been on the move again. By the time he turned forty his “condition” seemed well kept: the transformations took less of a toll on his body and he had started to grasp the reins of his animal instincts. Suddenly, with his recent comfort in life, his hold on controlling his form has slacked and he has once more become wilder- equivalent to his outbursts when he became a werewolf when he was 19. Despite this Elliot keeps his head held high. He is soft-spoken but blunt and is especially fond of teasing younger people over their big egos.

When it comes to the “fight of flight” instinct, Elliot chooses “flight” more often than not. That isn't to say that he is a coward. He’s more concerned for his well being at a stage when he is finally comfortable with life. Wash does have a few years of military training under his belt and, if provoked under grand circumstances (high irritation or coinciding with the timing around the full moon) he will lash out. Afterwards he tends to stay reclusive. After all, he has been a runner: from jobs asking too many questions, from his parents, and from the women of his life. He tells himself it’s for their own safety, but rarely does he believe it. He’s only meant to survive, just as the animal in him has dictated for forty years.

Yes, on the surface everything seems relatively normal about him. His lycanthropy was constantly something of shame in his youth save for when he found acceptance in a pack. He has long since left them behind. Now he is conflicted by his identity: previously he has been very open since he could control his form, or at least stay in a closed area. There was no need to tell the neighbors and for people to pass further judgment on him. Now the safety of others is an issue. If he reveals his secret to someone it’s for their own good, otherwise he’s simply Elliot Marshall Wash. What else could he be but a man enjoying his twilight years?

this is a fictional character that I have made up for creative writing purposes in February of 2009. He is the original idea I had revolving around a more experienced werewolf who is not only dealing with his transformative issues, but also with aging and his humanity. I'm not stealing anything or pretending to be anyone and I don't expect anyone to steal from me. Livejournal layout by [info]spire. Profile layout courtesy of [info]refuted
